Headline – CODY inks deal with Indiana State Excise Police..
Pottstown, PA; April 12, 2006 -- CODY Computer Services, Inc. announced today a contract with the State of Indiana to provide CODY's enterprise level Data Management System to Indiana's Excise Police.
With its main office in Indianapolis, IN, the Indiana State Excise Police is the enforcement arm of the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission. The agency currently has 63 officers working out of 6 district offices throughout the state, but the number of officers is increasing to 90 in the next year.
The Excise Police purchased CODY's enterprise level Records Management and Mobile Field Reporting system complete with instant messaging and secure internet-connectivity for all remote field offices and mobile units. The fully integrated system will allow officers throughout the state to securely access and interact with a centralized database through a real-time wired or wireless internet link, all from a web-portal on their personal laptops. Further, the system will include a real-time inquiry interface to the Indiana Data and Communications System (IDACS), and NCIC databases. Perhaps most importantly, the mobile component of the system, which will work at the district offices and in mobile units, features advanced technology that senses a loss in network connectivity and allows units in the field to continue working normally while disconnected, automatically posting all updates made while disconnected to the server when the network signal is restored.
