FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Headline – CODY Systems releases Homeland Security update to its C.O.B.R.A. data-sharing interface:

Pottstown, PA; June 2004 -- CODY Systems announces the release of a major update to its regional data-sharing interface, C.O.B.R.A.. The Collaborative Object-based Regional Access interface (C.O.B.R.A.) currently provides secure, real-time information sharing to public safety, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies. The major update is in response to recent developments in homeland security, and provides universal data-source support (JXML, SQL, etc.), instant data-source compliance, and plug-n-play scalability, while continuing to feature full interoperability.

C.O.B.R.A. has provided real-time interoperable information sharing to agencies and counties for over 4 years. The new version of C.O.B.R.A. extends the interface’s already industry-leading feature-set and provides access to secure data-source independent information sharing. The interface will now communicate with any data-source format (JXML, SQL, etc.) – even different data-sources within the same COBRAnet. C.O.B.R.A. has always been fully interoperable and works with all records systems. Combining this RMS interoperability with the new universal data-source support makes C.O.B.R.A. truly a plug-n-play data-sharing interface. Agencies are not bound by any specific records system, and can keep whatever system they currently have (or choose to buy in the future). The new version now allows agencies to become instantly compliant with the data-source format that is chosen for their COBRAnet. Finally, the interface has improved upon its ease of scalability. Now, in most cases, agencies can join a COBRAnet by simply ‘plugging in’ to the existing network…it’s that simple.

The release of the new C.O.B.R.A. version is in response to the recent approval of the National Criminal Intelligence Sharing Plan [NCISP] by Attorney General John Ashcroft. Since 2000, C.O.B.R.A. has spearheaded CODY’s mission to provide the public safety community with the type of modular nation-wide information network that the NCISP promotes. Projected expansion of C.O.B.R.A. includes linking regions, and ultimately the entire nation together under one flexible, secure, self-maintaining COBRAnet.
